The role of functional brain imaging in the study and treatment of chronic pain

摘要 本文概述近年来脑功能成像技术在疼痛研究和治疗领域的新进展。脑功能成像技术使我们对疼痛的生理反应以及慢性疼痛的病理生理有了进一步的了解。 Many studies have focused on defining the network of brain structures involved in pain. This paper reviews the studies on pain with functional brain imaging methods( functional magnetic resonance imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, single-photon emission computed tomography ,positron emission tomography ), which shows that functional brain imaging techniques would revolutionise our understanding of the physiological responses to pain and pave the way for a better understanding of the pathophysiology of chronic pain syndromes.
