With the change of modern medical mode and the promotion of junior medical treatment in urban areas, the development of health care in families, in communities as well as in general medical centers has attaimed much attention. Meanwhile, the urban family wards which are getting more and more perfect are providing positive environments for the proniotioh of health education in communities. Urban family wards actively meet the needs of the change in modern medical mode, which have proved to be an effective method in the promotion of health education in communities, and in the acceleration of the urban junior medical care. The implementation of health education in urban family wards is of much importance in the realization of 'proper medical care for everyorie in 2000'. It also helps in conforming to the aging of urban populations and the adoption of policy in medical treatment in the new era. This new field has a bright prospect and is worthy of further discussion.
