英语名词化的结构特征语用功能及形成理据

名词化是英语表达中极其普遍的语言现象。本文以系统功能语言学和认知语言学的相关理论为背景来探讨英语名词化的结构特点、语用功能及其形成理据。文章认为名词化具有语篇衔接和语用预设功能;名词化是语言象似性、图形-背景突显理论以及语言系统的运转机制相互矛盾发展的结果。

Nominalizafion is a very common linguistic phenomenon in English. This paper, from the perspective of systemic-functional and cognitive approaches, intends to analyze the structural features, the pragmatic functions as well as the formation grounds of nominalization. The paper regards nominalization as a means of text cohesion and pragmatic presupposition, and nomianlizafion is the contradictory product of iconicity and figure-grounding theory and that of iconicity and working mechanic s o f language system.
