Family:Three Great Impacts in the Past Century and Our Choices

一个世纪以来,中国的家庭经受了三次冲击:20世纪初指向家庭制度的批判、1949—1976年间指向家庭情感的政治运动、近30年指向家庭责任的经济理性的入侵。在三次冲击和经济社会剧变的背景下,当前,中国家庭处于压力增加和能力下降的失衡状态。今天重提家庭问题,是因为家庭在全球化的背景下和大国崛起的历史使命面前具有了提升国家竞争力和对于维护国家安全和社会稳定的新功能。我们需要重新为家庭的战略地位定位。在放任家庭能力削弱还是支持家庭的问题上,除去支持家庭,我们别无选择。应当将支持家庭纳入中国作为大国崛起的战略框架之中。家庭问题需要进入国家的视野,需要建立支持家庭的政策体系。

In the past century, the Chinese family has undergone three great impacts: the challenges that undermined the family system in the early 20 th century, political movements that severed emotional bonds of the family during 1949—1976, and the introduction of economic rationality that eroded responsibilities of the family in the past three decades. Reinforcing the family should be incorporated into China's strategy of rising as a power. And a policy system to reinforce the family should be in the government agenda.
