This paper introduces a way to design long-distance on-line upgrade through CAN bus with Mega8.In distributed monitor system, it discusses how to realize long-distance on-line upgrade by CAN bus＇ technology and BOOT function of Mega8 in detail. It is greatly convenient to debug system and maintain for future, then decrease maintenance time and cost. The flow chain of software and hardware and partial source code are also given in detail.
