摘要
本文提出了一种没有显式索引分配的交错量化方案.首先利用两个基本的标量量化器量化信号以形成两个边路描述,当单个描述收到时,直接利用反量化恢复;如果两路描述都收到,利用两个边路描述组合形成的量化器进行反量化恢复.编码和解码过程都很简单,并且非常容易扩展到多路描述上.对图像信源进行仿真,实验结果证明这种多描述编码方法优于基于显式索引分配的多描述编码方案.
Different from the index assignment in multiple description coding based on scalar quantization, we propose a stagger quantization scheme without explicit index assignment. The scheme makes use of two common quanfizers to form the side description firstly. When only one description is received,it reconstructs the signal with inverse quanfizer; when both of the side descriptions are received, it reconstructs the signal with the combined inverse quantizer. Both the coding and decoding process are very simple and can be generalized to n-channel description easily. We apply the scheme to image signals;the results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the explicit index assignment schemes.
