说起拉罗,很多人或许和我一样,第一反应就是那部蜚声乐坛的小提琴协奏曲《西班牙交响曲》,如果再深入地想想,也就是他的《大提琴协奏曲》出名了,其他则茫然无知。而实际的情况也就是这样,时隔一百年下来,拉罗已经成了一个并不太重要的法国作曲家,和当时如日中天的歌剧作曲家马斯涅一样,如果不是他的《西班牙交响曲》的话,拉罗的名字早就成了专业圈中的一个符号,不会被更多的音乐爱好者所知。
Known only for one instrumental work-Symphonie espagnole--Lalo was a French composer of Spanish descent who had a pretty rough career. Nowadays, few People knew that he was a driving force in French grand opera and played a decisive role in reviving se- rious French music. Le Roi d'Ys was Lalo's only successful opera during his lifetime, but it's still a rarely performed work because of high technical demands in staging. Le Roi d'Ys comes to Beijing's National Centre for Pertbrming Arts, offering Chinese auttiences a great opportunity to experience something new.
