Chen Yinque put almost all his energy on writing Unofficial Biography of Liu Rushi in his late life from the perspective of the karma between her and Qian Qianyi. While except to show the praise of the woman, he does overall survey on the literati in the South of the River, especially analyzes their complicated thinking and struggle in deep soul.
