城市化已成为21世纪国际社会共同讨论的话题。城市经营理念的提出是解决城市化进程中固有痼疾的一剂良方，大型综合性体育场馆所能发挥的作用与城市经营的目标不谋而合，大型体育场馆必然会伴随着城市化进程的加快，城市竞争程度的加剧成为完善城市功能、提升城市形象、打造城市文化内涵的重要手段。并提出了在经营城市理念指导下的我国大型综合性体育场馆建设与规划的相关建议。
Urbanization has become the hot -button topic in the international community in the 21st century. The philosophy of urban management is to solve the chronic problems inherent in the process of urbanization. The role that the major sports stadiums can play coincides with the urban management goals. Along with the process of urbanization, the major sports stadiums will become the essential means to perfect urban functions, improve city＇ s image and create urban culture. Some relative proposals on how to construct major sports stadiums are also put forward.
