The schiff base ligands and the corresponding complexes are becoming rather important for their extensive appliances. The development processes of Schiff bases and the research in biochemistry, catalyst chemistry, analysis chemistry and material chemistry were reviewed. The schiff base ligands and the corresponding complexes will be more widely applied in the future.
