his paper has introduced the principles and characteristics of a new technique for seed storage protein separation and varietal identification with high performance capillary electrophoresis(HPCE). Many studies have shown that HPCE is capable of rapiddly and automatically separating cereal storage proteins with high resolution, and results are easily quantified. Furthermore, It is much safer and only using very small amounts of organic solvents and buffer. Recent investigations have indicated that HPCE has much potential for Separating storage proteins and identifying varieties in wheat, oat, rice and other cereal crops.
