On the Modernist Tide of the Chinese Literature in Malaysia

马华现代主义文学创作在20世纪20年代末就出现了,但那时还没有形成自觉的创作潮流。50-60年代是马华现代主义文学的兴盛时期,其理论与创作都有长足的进展。70年代以来,马华现代主义文学的创作手法逐渐应用于现实主义创作之中,展现出新的面貌。它对于马华文学创作的促进作用是显而易见的。

The modernist writing of the Chinese literature in Malaysia, formerly Malaya, appeared in the end of the1920s, but it did not form a self-conscious tide of writing. The tide thrived at the 1950s and the 1960s, both in theory and praetice. The modernist writing techniques has gradually been adopted in the realist writings ever since the 1970s. Obviously the modernism promotes the development of the Chinese literature in Malaysia.
