Perspective of Modern China's Spirit of the University

民国时期我国大学精神主要体现在大学自治和重视"大师"的影响。教师自由流动、师资"杂交"是民国时期师资的共同特征。重视"大师"的引进及教师自由流动成为民国时期大学精神得以实现的一个最根本前提。大学追求大学自治,教师通过自由流动追求学术价值的最大体现,二者完美地统一,大学精神方可显现。

Before the liberation, Republic of China embodied the spirit of the university mainly in two areas： one is university autonomy and the other paying great attention to the influence of ＂master＂. The free flowing of professors and the hybrid of teacher structure were the common feature of the Republic of China. Paying attention to the ＂master＂ and the free flowing of professors were one of the most fundamental prerequisites in achieving the spirit of the University in the Republic of China. The spirit of the University may occur when the university keeps on the university autonomy and teachers hold on academic value.
