摘要
旅游景区公示语独具特色,以指示语、告示语居多,还有不少提示语和警示语。但是,目前旅游景区公示语英译存在不少问题,主要有两大类:一是译名不一致、不准确和不规范;二是译文不规范和不准确。翻译时,既要使译文符合英语规范,也要注重使用创造性翻译方法,以传达出原文确切的含意。
Public signs can be seen everywhere in Chinas’ tourist attractions.However,there are many problems in the translation of Chinese public signs into English,such as inconsistent translations of the name of the same scenic spot,inappropriate use of words and unidiomatic expressions.The paper suggests that methods of both borrowing standard public signs from English and doing creative translation should be used so as to make the translated text conform to the idiomatic English expressions as well as transmit the exact meaning of the Chinese original.
