An analysis of the prerequisite of Japan modern social structure

日本成为基督教世界之外的第一个现代化国家,根本原因在于其传统社会结构不同于东方各国而与西欧相似。明治维新前,其文化结构已趋多元化;政经分离、土地权和货币权分属于不同的阶级;政治上各藩自立,幕府并不是独揽大权的中央政府;这些都为日本现代化的启动创造了有利的条件,导致了明治维新的成功。

The basic reason that Japan has become the first modernized country which is outside of the Christianity World, is that whose social structure of traditional society is unlike the Eastern various countries but is similar to Western Europe. It＇s culture structure has already tended to diversification before the Meiji Restoration. Political and economical affairs were isolated. As by that separation, land ownership and currency ownership were divided to different social classes; In political, various independent states stand on their own feet and the Shogunate couldn＇t arrogates all the power to itself. All these created the advantageous conditions for the starting of the Japanese modernization and leading to the success of the Meiji Restoration.
