Imagery and Spirit of Qin Culture

秦文化是春秋战国以来日渐形成的以秦国和秦帝国为主体的地域文化。秦文化精神经历了春秋和战国至帝国时代两个历史发展阶段。前一阶段以《诗经》为代表,体现了早期自由奔放的人性化文化精神;后一阶段以国家主义、功利主义为中心,在文化表现上以简单、质朴、功实和强制为特点,加上长期以来盛行的原始宗教崇拜和信仰以及旧文化精神的部分延续,文化精神趋于复杂化。

Qin culture is the regional culture with Qin and Qin Empire remaining dominant, which have been forming in the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period. The spirit of Qin culture had undergo the the Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period and the empire age. The magnum opus of the former is The Book of Odes, which revealed the freedom and humanize. However, the latter showed simpilcity, imperative and prictical, adding the primitive religious cult and the remnant of the old cultural spirit, the cultural spirit had been becoming complicated.
