The thesis deals with the origination, expression and features of Cao Xuequan＇s Buddhism. It maintains that he is immersed in Confucianism and Buddhism, which are adroitly combined and integrated to some degree of unification of Buddhist seclusion and Confucian participation, rendering the complementation and co - existence of the Buddhism tradition and Chinese integral culture. Therefore, Cao is adapted to the Chinese cultural tradition and enjoys his unique life at once.
