Spring and Autumn Annals Studies & Academic Changes of Ming Dynasty

明代春秋学对明代文学变迁的影响甚大,以春秋学为代表的明代经学受理学影响,呈现衰落之势。为救经学之失,因史证经成为普遍认可的解经方式。明代学术重心随之发生了由经学向史学的转换,由此引发史学的兴起。而在阳明心学影响下,以史证心的史学观念兼之以文辞论的流行引发了由史学向文学的转化。

The academic turn of the Spring and Autumn Annals Studies in the Ming Dynasty had an obvious influence on the literature. The Ming Confucian Classics Studies, exemplified by the Spring and Autumn Annals Studies, was influenced by the rationalistic Confucian school of idea and therefore declined. In order to remedy this decline, Confucian scholars resorted to history to testify the Classics, and this approach became a generally recognized way of interpretation. The focus of the Ming academia, accordingly, was changed from the Confucian Classics Studies to historiography, and the latter simultaneously sprang up. Under the influence of the Learning of the Mind-and-Heart advocated by Wang Yangming, both a historical idea-prove mind or heart through history-and the vogue of diction art of article impelled a transformation from historiography to literature.
