The concept, current status and developnent of the green lubricating oils were reviewed. The necessity of exploiture in the green renewable resources and its foreground were analyzed. The advantage of the application of soybean oil in green lubricating oils and the machining process were discussed in this paper. Soybean oil becomes as the basis of lubricating oils in stead of mineral oil and it is an effective way to solve the energy crisis and to implement environmental protection and sustainable development.
