On Dec. 27, 2007 just when all teachers and students in Jilin Uni versity were ringing out the old year and ringing in the new year,a good news came from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the professor in the biological and agricultural engineering college, Prof. Ren Luquan, was elected as the new supplemental academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
