On the Relationship between Human Individuality and System from the Perspective of Historical Materialism

作为人类历史上永恒难题的人的个性与社会秩序关系问题,从一定意义上说就是人的个性与社会制度之间的关系问题。按照唯物史观的观点,人的个性与制度之间具有相互生成、相互建构、不可分割的内在联系。制度是人的个性生成、存在和自由发展的前提和基础;人的个性是制度稳定和发展的基本因素之一;人的个性与制度在人的实践活动基础上具有一致性,整个人类历史是人的个性与制度不断由低级向高级发展的历史。

The Relationship between Human Individuality and social system is the dilemma in the entire human history. Individualism believes individual can improve himself in most aspects, and his individuality can develop if it is not restricted by social systems. The drawback of this view lies in its misunderstanding the essence of relationship between human individuality and social system. According to historical materialism, human individuality and social system interact and promote each other. The formation, existence and development of human individuality base on social system, while the stability and advancement of social order is driven by human individuality. The entire human history is one in which the human individuality and the social system increasingly develop from the preliminary phase to the highlevel.
