一种基于快速比较的分支处理技术

摘要 首先分析了分支指令对系统性能的影响,重点描述了超标量流水线微处理器IP核BSR03(Breeze Superscalar RISC 03)中的新型分支处理方法-快速比较的分支处理技术。在快速比较的分支处理技术中把分支的处理融入到译码分派部分,以空间换取时间,使分支的处理得到提前,从而提高系统的性能。 The paper analyzes the impact of the branch-instructions on the performance of microprocessor. The emphasis of the presentation is on fast-comparing branch processing technique, a new branch processing method in the design of a 32-bit superscalar pipeline microprocessor IPcore( BSR03 ). In the technique the processing of branch was combined with decoding and dispatching unit as consuming more space for shortening time. The branch processing was ahead of schedule thus the performance of microprocessor was improved.
