Possibility of Harmonious Culture and its Limit

社会由生产关系的总和构成,社会表现出来的错综复杂的关系都受到生产关系的制约,因而寻求社会矛盾的根源、谋求社会的和谐都必须立足于生产关系。忽视这一点,无异于漠视或纵容社会矛盾的积累。而今中国社会之和谐文化的建构,不仅存在着现实可能性,而且也存在着限度。

A society is composed of the whole of production relations,and all the complicated relations that a society displays are limited unexceptionally by production relations; therefore, the seek for the root of social contradictions and social harmony must be based on production relations. Neglect of this point is no different from treating with unconcern or winking at the accumulation of social contradictions. The construction of harmonious culture in China today does have a possibility of success,but also some limit.
