An Analysis of Intergenerational Relationship from Cognitive Aspect

本文利用2006年中国人民大学老年学研究所对校内在校生和部分离退休教职工的调查数据,通过交叉表和二项Logistic回归模型,分析并解释了两代人在相互印象方面的代际关系及其影响因素。研究发现,被调查老年人对老年人的第一印象无论是积极方面还是消极方面,均高出青年人的印象一成左右;近一半的被调查老年人认为老年人是家庭和社会的负担,而近80%的被调查青年人并不把老年人当作负担;被调查青年人比被调查老年人对两代人第一印象的包容性更强。

In order to analyze the intergenerational relationship and its relevant factors, the following data are used： a survey about the retirees, BA students, MA students and PhD students, which is conducted by MA students and PhD students of Renmin University of China. By overlapping table and binary logistic model, some results are found that the older people＇s positive and negative impressions of their own are higher than those of the youth; half of the older people consider themselves as burdens of their family or society. However, 80% of the youth don＇t regard the older people as a burden. The conclusion can be drawn that the youth are more active and containable for the first impressions of both generations than the older people. Whether to consider the older people as a social burden is related to the statistical first impression significantly.
