建设生态文明是针对工业文明所带来的人口、资源、环境与发展的困境,人类选择和确立的一种新的生存与发展道路,也是中国特色社会主义发展的方向。现代人应当发展同自然的协调关系,了解它的发展过程,并理智地利用它,促进人类社会的可持续发展,促进自然的丰富、人化。同时,人与自然的协调关系也恰恰是促进人本身全面、和谐发展的重要因素。

Man has been confronted with problems of population, resources and environment, and building an ecological culture has become not only a must for the sake of human survival and development, but a goal of socialism with Chinese characteristics as well. Therefore, modern man ought to establish a harmonious relationship with nature, understand its evolution course, and make the best of it so as to promote human society＇s sustainable development. Harmony between man and nature, in turn, will facilitate the all-round development of human beings.
