The scientific spirit of Darwin's Theory of Evolution and its criticism of the survival links,teleology and traditional determinism has subverted many key ideas of Western philosophy and constructed the basic ideas of modern civilization.This paper analyzes the philosophical elements in Darwin's theory of Evolution and aims to confirm its important position in the history of ideology in order to face the challenges from Postmodernism.
