海南诗歌写作有着特殊的文化生态背景,除了独特的自然及地域文化生态,历史上的移民浪潮、建省办特区的商品经济的起落沉浮,也给海南诗歌带来了深刻的影响。另外,从历史线索上看,海南诗歌也形成了自己特有的传统,在不断接受、融化外来影响的基础上生成了自己特有的本土风格。大体以建省为界,海南诗歌可分为三个大的阶段,它们各自具有明显的特点,并从整体上形成了一种不断发展的趋向。
