The Cause of the Global Scarcity of Food Supply and Its Revelation

进入21世纪以来,全球粮食供应日趋紧张和库存率急剧下降,引起农产品价格节节攀升。随着世界人口增加和耕地减少,主要粮食生产和出口国用大量农产品生产生物燃料,以及全球处在自然灾害频发期,全球粮价可能继续上涨或在高位徘徊。我国人多、地少,要进一步加强农业和粮食生产,确保农产品供应和安全。

Since the beginning of the 21st century,there has been a growing scarcity of food supply and fast declining of grain stock,which have brought about the soaring prices for agricultural produce.Along with the growth of the world population and the reduction of cultivated land,and coupled with major food production and export countries using a lot of their agricultural produce to make ethanol for fuel and the world being in a period of frequent natural disasters,the global price for food will remain high and is likely to go further up.As China is a country with a huge population and limited land,we should attach great importance to agriculture and grain production so as to guarantee a stable food supply and food security.
