Crosscultural Pragmatic Communication Strategy

本研究对十四位即时CMC环境中的英语对话者的语篇进行了跨文化语用交际策略的分析标注，运用Wordsmith的Concord和Wordlist功能统计出十六种策略的使用频率以及每位被研究者的使用情况。统计结果和Spearman相关分析结果表明被研究者在即时CMC环境中很频繁地使用了愉快交流类策略和破冰策略，而且这两类策略的使用绝大部分与对话者母语文化语境无显著相关。处理冲突类策略使用频率不高，但多与CMC环境的背景显著相关。利己类策略是使用频率最低的策略，而且大部分对话者并未使用。

This paper explored the use of cross-cuhural pragmatic communication strategy of interlocutors in a synchronous computer-mediated communication environment and the correlation between the use of the cultural context of the interlocutors and the setting of the synchronous computer-mediated communication environment. Research results indicate that the interlocutors frequently applied the strategies of conversing pleasantly and the ice-breaking strategies. All the other strategies in these two categories failed to display any significant correlation with setting or context except the strategy of being sympathetic and helpful. The strategies of avoiding conflict-arousing topics are not as frequently applied whereas most of them demonstrate a significant correlation with setting. In peaceful settings, interlocutors turn to these strategies significantly less.
