Offshore finance is a major financial innovation in the wave of financial liberalization that began in the 1950s. Starting with the development history of the offshore financial market, this paper highlights the connotation and features of offshore finance, as well as the reasons for the emergence and development of the offshore financial market. The author analyzes the influence of the offshore financial market on the global economy and finance and anticipates the future development of the market. Finally, a preliminary discussion is also conducted concerning how China can use offshore finance to develop its financial market and enhance its financial strength.
