Following the end of the Cold War, in response to the dramatic changes in international security, ASEAN regional security regime has witnessed successive adjustments including internal consolidation and enlargement from inside outward, thus exerting a significant role in maintaining regional security. The development of ASEAN regional security regime has multi-fold influences, both positive and negative, upon China, but in the main positive influences outweigh the negative. China should therefore support the development of ASEAN regional security regime, and try, in its development, to pursue China＇s maximized national interest under the win-win prerequisite.
