First of all, on behalf of the National Natural Science Foundation of China （NSFC）, I would like to express our congratulations on the inauguration of the ＂Meeting of Sino-Japan S＆T Cooperation under Globalization＂ sponsored by China Research Center ofJapan Science and Technology Agency （JST）. I also want to thank the Center for its efforts and contributions to the promotion of cooperation and exchange of our two scientific communities within only two years of its establishment.
