《楚辞》十七卷成书考辩

On the Compilation of the Seventeen-Volume Edition of Chuci

本文以为在汉代本有可能《楚辞章句》为十六卷本,但是绝无十七卷本存在;六朝时期流传的王逸《楚辞章句》为十一卷本,《七谏章句》等五卷为东汉无名氏托名伪作;初唐始见《楚辞章句》十六卷本;五代、北宋初期始有《楚辞章句》十七卷本。

This paper argues that there might have been the “sixteen volumes” edition of Chuci Zhangju （the syntactic and semantic analysis of Chuci, which is a collection of the songs in the Chu Kingdom）, but never has been the “seventeen volumes” edition. The Chuci Zhangju edited by Wang Yi in the Six Dynasties has eleven volumes, and the “five volumes” editon including Qijian （one of the songs in Chuci ） Zhanju is a pseudograph worked by someone unknown in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The “sixteen volumes” edition first appeared in the early Tang Dynasty, while the “seventeen volumes” edition first appeared in the late Five Dynasties to the early Song Dynasty.
