William Blake happens to share some viewpoints with postmodernism.While his conception of the coexistence of the Contraries removes the hierarchical relationship of Logocentricism as postmodernism does,his belief in God and truth prevents him from falling into postmodernist relativism and nihilism.His pursuit of pluralism urges him to adopt some postmodernist strategies in his writing,i.e.,blending fiction and facts,literary collage,and intertextuality.The comparison between Blake and postmodernism proves that the pursuit of pluralism runs all through the modern age,not just in the postmodern world.In his persistent pursuit of pluralism,Blake's works acquires values transcending his age.
