Historical Analysis on the Process and Characteristic of the Coincidence Between Technology and Olympics

通过对科技奥运历史进程中现代技术角色演变的考证,分析了科技角色由辅助者、支持者转向被依赖者的历史过程及必然性,论证了科技与奥运的契合历程,阐述了二者契合的基本特点:科技应用的加速性、科技嵌入的全面性、科技种类应用的广泛性以及科技由应用转向自主开发。进而指出在奥运发展过程中,科技与奥运的相互契合形成了科技奥运现象。科技日益成为奥运发展有力的技术保障,并逐渐形成了一个稳定的奥运科技体系;奥运成为科技发展新的引擎。

Analyzing historically what the role the technological progress played in the Olympic Games, it is found that the technology acted as an assistant at the beginning then turned to be a supporter and nowadays the means the Games have to depend on. The fact is a necessity for the evolution of the Olympic Games, which reveals that the technology embedding into the sports is not a contingency but a far-reaching consequence of socio-economical progress. Discusses the basis characteristics of such a coincidence： speed-up in technologic applications, all-round introduction of technology into sports, a variety of technologies applied to athletics and especially the self-fulfillment of the technologies to be used specially for sports. The combination of technology with the Olympic Games has now been a global phenomenon, and the former becomes increasingly the powerful guarantee of a successful Olympic Games. A stable technology system has therefore gradually been formed specially for the Olympic Games which has become a new engine to develop technology.
