This paper has discussed the importance of design phase for project cost control, as well as how to make some specific suggestions and way of thinkings in the aspect of decreasing project cost in design phase. It is advised to decrease the building cost by adopting HRB400reinforcements in a big way and the rational structure system. In addition, the method of decreasing the reinforcements dosage of floor slsb by the aspect of floor slab design is put forward.
