The essays by Su Xuelin in his early years are undoubtedly fine prose which cherish aesthetic connotation in different layers as beauty in poet and painting, and of intelligence and sincerity. Compared with those famous writers in fine prose movement, such as Zhou Zuoren, Zhu Ziqing, and Bingxin etc, Su makes special contribution to the movement in influencing its style and tendency.
