"绿色学校"是在实现学校基本教育功能的基础上,以可持续发展思想为指导,在学校的日常管理工作中纳入有益于环境的管理措施,并持续不断地改进,充分利用学校内外的一切资源和机会全面提高师生环境素养的场所。"绿色学校"创建活动是环境教育的有效方式,也是实施素质教育的重要载体。

Green school means that some daily management measures which is good for environmental protection are implemented in the school based on the conception of sustainable development. It encourages the school to use all possible resources inside and outside of the school to educate the teachers and students. Green school construction is an efficient way to carry out environmental education, and an important carrier of quality education also.
