黎锦晖首创了儿童歌舞这一崭新的艺术体裁,并集编、导于一身。舞台布景以适合儿童需要,为儿童服务为宗旨,便于歌舞艺术的普及;为了更好地刻画剧中人物的性格和形象,为表演提供了极富表现力的动作支点和道具;同时还创造了一种在传统戏曲写意虚拟手法的基础上吸收西方戏剧的写实手法,作品充满了浪漫的气息。从黎锦晖为其儿童歌舞设计的舞台美术中不难看出他的别具一格——儿童性的体察,也为当时儿童歌舞的舞台美术开启了启蒙之窗。

Li Jin -hui created a new artistic style Children Song- and -Dance Drama and he played the role of the screenwriter and director. The arrangement of stage scenery aims at meeting the need of children and serve children, promoting song and dance art. It could help embody those characters in drama and provide stage props which would enforce performance strength. At the same time, it offers techniques of combining abstract and enjoyable methods in the traditional drama with practical and concrete methods, which fills the works with romantic atmosphere. It can be easily found from Li Jin - hui＇s design that the characteristic is observing children＇s quality and open the window to stage arts in Children Song- and -Dance Drama.
