女性主义文学批评强调运用女性视角审视文学作品,通过系统研究女性文学的创作母题、结构艺术和叙事风格,在发现和建构"性别诗学"体系的同时,以一种开拓性的文化立场和批判精神,对文学创作中长期存在着的男权制进行了一次较为深入的理论颠覆。而美国作家休.米勒的小说《下面的世界》作为一个典型的个案,从社会学纬度和性别诗学纬度两个方面系统、深入地反映了女权运动深入到文学领域后所产生的若干影响及新变。
