汉语中五味的名称,上古是"甘、苦、辛、咸、酸",后来变成了"甜、苦、辣、咸、酸"。除了"咸"古今义没有变化,没有引申义外,其他4个词的引申义古今都有所不同。
The tastes in Chinese were Gan (sweet) Ku (bitter) Xin (hot) Xian (salty) and Suan (sour) in ancient time, but now become Tian (sweet), Ku (bitter), La (hot), Xian (salty) and Suan (sour). Except for Xian that underwent no change in meaning and has no extended meaning, all the othe four' s current extended meanings are different from those in ancient times.
