Theme/Rheme Theory in the Theory of Actual Division and Its Three Metafunctions

实义切分理论是基于交际功能分析的句子的实义切分,其应用常见于语篇分析。以韩礼德为代表的系统功能学派在实义切分理论基础之上发展了主位/述位理论,并使之趋于成熟完善。功能语法学派普遍认为,主位可分为简单主位、多重主位和句式主位,同时主位具有语篇纯理功能、人际纯理功能和经验纯理功能三大纯理功能。

The theory of actual division studies the actual division of sentences irom the perspective ot the communicative structure and is often seen in discourse analyses. Systemic Functional Grammar, headed by M. A. K. Halliday, developed and matured the Theme/Rheme Theory based on the theory of actual division. Themes consist of simple theme, multiple theme, and clause theme, and have three metafuntions： textual metafunction, interpersonal metafunction, and experiential metafunction.
