Discussion of the Reason for Pingshe to Last Briefly

平社是20世纪20年代末30年代初一批从欧美留学回来的自由主义知识分子组成的团体。他们以《新月》为平台,对当时中国社会的政治、经济、文化等问题展开了广泛的讨论与思考,并提出了许多批评与建设性意见,在20世纪二三十年代对中国思想产生了一定的影响。但是20世纪20年代末中国政治状况的变迁、自由主义理念的内在矛盾、平社学人思想内在建构的限度决定了平社的命运只能是昙花一现、聚散匆匆。

Pingshe was constituted of a group of liberal intellectual coming back from abroad in the late 1920s to the early 1930s . They took the crescent moon as a platform, extensively discussed the political, economic, cultural problems of Chinese society at that time and advanced many critical and constructive ideas. These ideas made some extent influence in the stage of Chinese thoughts in 1920s and 1930s. But for the political vicissitude, the inherent contradiction of liberalism and the inherent limit of thought of Pingshe members, Pingshe was determined iust to last briefly.
