公共英语教学走向之我见

Development Tendency of Public English Teaching

英语步入中国已有100多年历史,但是国人的英语交际能力尚不尽如人意。目前,公共英语教学正处在一个关键的转型期,从精英到大众,从单一的学科式学校教育到多层次、全方位的素质型教育,从学术到实用,从研究到产业化,正逐步向语言习得的内在规律靠拢,即"听、说领先,读、写、译兼顾"。英语产业也以惊人的速度向前发展。如何真正把公共英语教学水平提高到一定层次,已成为英语教育专家、学者和广大教育工作者关注的一个热点问题。

Although English stepped into China 100 years ago, English abihty for Chinese people doesn＇t meet communication requirements. A critical turn to inner rule of language learning, i.e. led by hearing and speaking with over-view to reading, writing and translating, has been made, from elite to public, from school education of mono-subject to quality education of multi-level and all direction, from academic to utilization, from reach to industrialization, accompanied by profound change of Chinese-Engllsh teaching and English industry. How to upgrade common English teaching has become very hot among the circle of English educators, scholars and experts.
