前后照应可以使语篇表达准确完整,是文章写作应该遵守的一种规范,属于消极修辞;有时为了表达的特殊需要,作者有意使上下文照应不周,形成修辞缺省,从而制造出意想不到的幽默,诙谐的调侃,或启人心智的效果。

Echo makes English story intact, which is regarded as a rule in English writing. It is a passive rhetoric. But sometimes the writer breaks the rule on purpose for some special need. Lack of echo is created, then humor or humorous talk appears, and it even stimulates people＇s mind.
