As the value stand for intellectuals, affinity to the people determines the civilian orientation which an author expresses naturally. He Jianming, a reportage writer, pays close attention to the folks of the lower class and the members of the social vulnerable group. At the same time he describes with great enthusiasm the advanced individuals and heroes in the civilian orientation.
