In the long biographical novel Sophie＇s Choice, William Styton, an American writer from the south, uses complex narration, unreliable narrative and irony to give a deconstructive interpretation to the truth of history and tragic meaning, which reflects Styton＇ s thinking of the history and man＇ s existing straits as well as the author＇s human attitude and moral feeling. It inherits and surpasses Faulkner.
