Translation practice from the perspective of relevance theory

关联理论认为人类语言交际是一个通过寻找关联进行明示——推理的过程,其框架下的翻译是一种跨语言、跨文化的交际活动,即涉及原语作者——译者——译语读者的双重交际。因此,翻译也要遵守交际的一般原则即关联原则。翻译的过程实际上是寻找最佳关联的推理过程。

Relevance theory holds that the language communication of human beings is an estensive-inferential process of searching for relevance. Under the framework of relevance theory, translation is a communication across languages and cultures, involving dual process of communication between the source text writer, the translator and the target text readets. Therefore, translation should conform to the already existing communicative principles, i.e. principle of relevance, And a process of translation is actually a reasoning process of searching for optimal relevance.
