浅析英汉习语的文化差异

A study of cultural differences between English and Chinese idioms

本文采用对比法从自然环境、风俗习惯以及宗教信仰三个方面对英汉习语的文化差异进行了初步探讨。语言是文化的载体,文化是语言的内涵。因此,要想彻悟英语习语,就得了解英语与汉语在文化方面的差异。

A study of cultural differences between English and Chinese idioms has been made from natural surroundings, social customs and religious beliefs by means of contrast. Language is the carrier of culture and in turn, the culture is the content of the language. Therefore, to fully understand English idioms, one has to know something about the differences between English and Chinese in culture.
