汨罗市长乐故事会起于隋唐,兴于明清,盛于当今。它集历史传奇、民俗风情、戏曲艺术、杂技竞技于一体,是一种古老而又新奇、惊险而又粗犷的大型民间行为艺术,特色突出,影响深远。正是这样,近些年来,长乐故事会先后应邀赴广东省参加了"中国(江门)侨乡华人嘉年华"大巡游活动,参加了中央电视台2006"中国年"的表演活动等,2006年湖南省人民政府已将"长乐故事会"列为省级非物质文化遗产重点保护项目。"比",是长乐故事会的突出特色,它形成了特有的民俗文化风格,具有较强的艺术价值和社会价值。

Changle Story started in Sui and Tang Dynasties, springed up in Ming and Qing Dynasties, flourishes in today. It sets legendary history, folk customs, arts opera, acrobatics competition in one, is an an- cient and exciting, thrilling and wild behavior of a large private art with prominent features and far-reaching impact. In recent years, Changle Story had been invited to Guangdong Province to participate in ＂China （Jiangmen） Overseas Chinese Big Carnival Parade＂ and 2006 CCTV＂ China Year ＂ performances activities etc. In 2006, Hunan Provincial Government has made Changle Story as a key provincial-level intangible cultural heritage protection projects. ＂Than＂ is the prominent characteristics of Changle Story, It formed a unique style of folk culture, with strong artistic and social value.
